Wine and Jazz Autograph Session At Rodney Strong Vineyards April 15th from Noon to 4:00pm
Michael Lington has demonstrated his brilliant saxophone flair with a steady stream of chart-toppers since his debut album in 1997. His CD, Stay with Me, yielded three Radio & Records national jazz hits with “Show Me” at # 2; “Two of a Kind” at # 2; and “Pacifica” at # 6. Stay With Me also remained on the Billboard contemporary jazz chart for a total of 24 weeks. “Twice In a Lifetime” and “Sunset” from Vivid; and “Still Thinking of You” from Lington’s Everything Must Change all went Top 5 as well. His duet with Bobby Caldwell on “Tell It Like It Is” from his self-titled debut, ascended both the jazz and adult contemporary charts. Rodney Strong Vineyards, located in Healdsburg California, was established in 1959 and grows and produces wines exclusively from four of Sonoma County's finest appellations—Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill, Alexander Valley and Sonoma Coast. The winery's twelve unique estate vineyards represent the perfect marriage of varietal selection and "terroir". Surrounded by acres of beautiful vineyards, guests at Rodney Strong Vineyards' Annual Summer Concert Series are treated to some of the top acts in smooth jazz, as well as the occasional crossover artist. Wine and Jazz, also known as WineandJazz.com, is the brainchild of Mike & Cindy Nordskog. Every two months Wine and Jazz pairs a winery and a smooth jazz musician to create a custom package known as "The Wine and Jazz Experience". These packages feature two bottles of wine, two winery logo wine glasses, a smooth jazz CD, a commemorative coin, an autographed photo from the featured musician, as well as letters from the vintner & musician. The Wine and Jazz Experience comes elegantly packaged and is delivered to Wine and Jazz members and gift recipients. The Wine and Jazz Autograph Session is another "groundbreaking" idea from the Nordskog family. Nordskog Records, founded in Santa Monica California in 1921, was the first record manufacturing company on the west coast and the first to record New Orleans jazz music.
