MICHAEL LINGTON AND JIM BRICKMAN TO PERFORM ON THE SUMMER ROMANCE TOUR Love is in the air this summer as Michael Lington and long-time friend Jim Brickman performs together on the Summer Romance Tour. The star saxophonist and legendary pianist/songwriter will hit the road in late July, visiting theaters across the country including a performance at the JVC Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl on August 19th. Michael Lington has demonstrated his contemporary saxophone chops with a steady stream of chart-toppers since his debut album in 1997. His CD, Stay with Me, yielded three Radio & Records national jazz hits with “Show Me” at # 2; “Two of a Kind” at # 2; and “Pacifica” at # 6. Stay With Me also remained on the Billboard contemporary jazz chart for a total of 24 weeks. Michael’s new album, A Song For You, leans strongly towards the pop side of jazz with classical, Brazilian, Latin, and gospel shadings. The album features inspired renditions of new standards such as Carol King’s “It’s Too Late,” Michael Franks’ “Tell Me All About It,” and Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now.” Jim Brickman’s remarkable career includes six Gold and Platinum selling albums, three #1 and twelve Top 10 Adult Contemporary radio hits, consistent debuts at #1 on Billboard Magazine’s New Age chart, a 2003 Grammy nomination, SESAC “Songwriter of the Year” award, a Canadian Country Music Award for “Best Vocal/Instrumental Collaboration,” a Dove Award presented by the Gospel Music Association for “The Gift” and over a decade of sold-out international and American concert tours. |
